Accounting Clerk

Accounting Clerk

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Accounting Clerk is to support the accounting staff in basic accounting & administrative tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and other accounting assistance. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Data entry of prepared accounts payable batches
  • Assemble & reconcile supporting documentation for corporate card accounts
  • Assist with expense reports processing throughout month
  • Coordinates with Travel Booking Specialist, Accounts Payable, and Expense Reporting Specialist to research and resolve any errors or missing documentation.
  • Assistance with fuel ticket administration
  • Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices.
  • Provide assistance and support to company personnel
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
  • Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
  • Constantly update job knowledge
  • Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-4 years Accounts Payable or General Accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented.
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills. Positive attitude.
  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management within the company and with vendors and customers.
